Quincy Medical Center (QMC) is always looking to add to its excellent staff of nurses. At QMC, you’ll find the ability to work with state of the art equipment, competitive wages, an excellent benefits program, and a professional and supportive staff of other nurses, aides and technicians. Operating within a community environment, you’ll also have the opportunity to work in a more family-oriented culture and forgo the stressful commute to major Boston-based hospitals.
More than 300 professional nurses are on staff at Quincy Medical Center and opportunities range from per-diem, part time, full time and all shifts.
In addition to providing excellent working conditions, QMC is also dedicated to providing its nurses with a wide variety of educational opportunities and programs. In-service programs held on a monthly basis include those involving new procedures and new equipment. QMC also offers in house continuing education units (CEUs) classes. CEU-based classes offered to nurses have included programs on:
For those nurses who like to teach, QMC maintains affiliations with a number of educational institutions including:
We also serve as a site for Boston College’s Nursing Refresher Program.
Our Staff Nurse Council meets monthly to discuss a wide range of issues related to new nursing policies and protocols, new programs and enhancements in the delivery of patient care. The 20-person council is comprised of at least one staff registered nurse from each clinical department and is facilitated by a nursing leader.
The Staff Nurse Council is a dynamic, open forum for the exchange of ideas and development of solutions that will lead to positive change. Staff registered nurses serving on the council act as ‘Ambassadors’ for their clinical departments, offering input on issues and relaying the council’s recommendations to their colleagues.
