Steward Health Care System strives to make a difference in the communities we serve. Improving the overall health of individuals who live in our communities is a top priority and we accomplish this by implementing community health programs, which respond to major health needs.
Each of our community hospitals plays a vital role in upholding our commitment to delivering affordable health care to our communities, being responsible partners in the neighborhoods we serve, and serving as advocates for the poor and underserved in those areas. We continuously focus on addressing the many health- and wellness-related needs of our diverse communities, and we provide programs and services to help meet that goal.
In order to determine which programs and services best benefit our communities, Steward uses data collected from regular Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNA). The CHNA is a compilation of publicly available data and community-based focus groups that highlight the medical and social needs of the community. The CHNA supports our system in planning and implementing community-based programming to more effectively address the health needs of our communities.
