UMass Memorial Health Care and Holy Family Hospital Collaborate for Radiation Oncology

radiation oncologists team up to collectively provide radiation
oncology diagnosis, treatment and care
Methuen, Mass — Holy Family Hospital, a Steward family hospital, and the
UMass Memorial Medical Group, a physician practice of UMass Memorial
Health Care, have signed an agreement to provide radiation oncology care
at Holy Family Hospital’s Cancer Center. Effective immediately,
this engagement brings advanced radiation oncology treatment to the
Merrimack Valley and southern New Hampshire.
Three physicians from the UMass Memorial Medical Group, a
multi-specialty group practice of more than 1,000 physicians who are on
the faculty at UMass Medical School, will be practicing with
Holy Family

Narayan Shanmugham, MD. Dr. FitzGerald has been appointed the
Medical Director of
Holy Family Hospital’s Cancer Center, Department of
Radiation Oncology. He is also the chair of the Department of Radiation
Oncology at UMass Memorial Health Care and directs the internationally
recognized Quality Assurance Review Center (QARC), a clinical research
program within the UMass Medical School providing services to the
National Cancer Institute's (NCI) cancer clinical trials program to
improve cancer care.

Holy Family Hospital’s Cancer Center was recently awarded a three-year
accreditation (2012-2015) and the Outstanding Achievement Award
(2009-2011) from the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) Commission on
Cancer (CoC). Currently, Holy Family's Cancer Center is one of only nine
hospitals in Massachusetts, and one of only three north of Boston, to
garner this level of commendation. Holy Family has held this distinction
for six consecutive years, beginning in 2006.
