BRIGHTON - St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center this week welcomes hand
surgeon Federico Martinez, MD, to the Division of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Martinez, who speaks Spanish fluently, comes to St. Elizabeth’s
after having
completed
the prestigious hand surgery fellowship at the University of
Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester.
Dr. Martinez’ expertise covers everything in the hand and wrist,
including all chronic conditions, such as arthritis, or injury from an
acute trauma, fracture or laceration. His areas of interest include
carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, fractures of the fingers, wrist or
forearm, joint replacement of fingers and trigger fingers.
“Dr. Martinez brings an excellent skill set that complements our
services in the Division of Orthopedic Surgery,” said Robert Nicoletta,
MD, chief of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at St. Elizabeth’s
Medical Center.
In addition to the hand surgery fellowship program, Dr. Martinez
completed his residency and training at the University of Massachusetts
Medical School. He completed medical school at Georgetown University
School of Medicine, and he earned both a bachelor’s of science and a
master’s of science in aerospace engineering from the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology.
